I’m Clara- and I’m a Marine Biologist, as you probably already guessed by the title of the webpage! 😊

To be specific, my bachelor’s degree is in Marine and Freshwater Biology, and my Master’s degree is in Marine Biotechnology. I did both of my studies in Scotland, and the education has given me opportunities to work in a variety of sectors- ecology, fisheries, environmental consultancies, laboratories, pharmaceutical companies and if I should wish, I can also go on and do a PhD, which will be my goal in the future.

Alas! This education is quite recent, so let me tell you a bit more about myself! 😊

I was born in the UK to a British father and Danish mother- I moved with my mum while I was still a baby to Denmark and grew up here. That was until late 2010, where mum and I moved to Barcelona and we lived there for a year, after which we moved back to Denmark again. I started to do my high school education in Barcelona where I started the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. I finished the International Baccalaureate in Denmark after which I moved to Scotland for the mentioned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.

I have moved around quite a lot my whole life, also while living in Denmark, and I was at international schools while in Barcelona and an international boarding school when I came back to Denmark, and university environments are also always very international. Therefore, I have for many years been used to travelling a lot, even as a child where I would visit my dad in the UK alone, and have been to most countries in Europe and some places in Asia and the USA. I definitely want to visit all 7 continents of the globe!

I have been interested in Marine Biology since I was a child- I have always LOVED swimming and been interested in anything sea related, and my decision to study marine biology was set in stone when I was on holiday in Egypt with my dad in 2009. I took my open water scuba diving certificate and was absolutely in awe at what an amazing experience diving was and the marine creatures I saw while diving in Sharm El-Sheikh. I will never forget the coral reefs, moray eels, plenty of fish and turtles I saw on that trip! II still dive today and have an advanced open water PADI certificate, but I would like to increase my diving qualifications too, to one day be a scuba instructor.

The reason for this blog is quite simple, really- I love travelling and everything marine related, so this blog will be about everything related to travelling and the marine environment, as I also do wish for the blog to have some form of educational content. What prompted me to start this blog is because I am going travelling to Canada, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea and Japan, for the trip of a lifetime in September 2019 to December 2019, and I wish to take you along for the ride. I will post updates and tips and tricks regarding travelling, reviews, money saving tips and all that comes with it as I explore the world 😊

I hope you enjoy reading the blog and learn something along the way- I know I certainly will! 😊  [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][mkdf_icon icon_pack=”font_elegant” fe_icon=”social_facebook” type=”mkdf-circle” target=”_blank” custom_size=”13″ shape_size=”25″ icon_color=”#ffffff” border_color=”#3b5998″ background_color=”#3b5998″ link=”https://www.facebook.com”][mkdf_icon icon_pack=”font_elegant” fe_icon=”social_pinterest” type=”mkdf-circle” target=”_blank” custom_size=”13″ shape_size=”25″ icon_color=”#ffffff” border_color=”#cb2027″ background_color=”#cb2027″ link=”https://www.pinterest.com” margin=”0 16px 0 16px”][mkdf_icon icon_pack=”font_elegant” fe_icon=”social_twitter” type=”mkdf-circle” target=”_blank” custom_size=”13″ shape_size=”25″ icon_color=”#ffffff” border_color=”#55acee” background_color=”#55acee” link=”https://www.twitter.com”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][vc_column offset=”vc_col-lg-offset-0 vc_col-lg-6 vc_col-md-offset-0 vc_col-md-12 vc_col-sm-offset-0″][vc_empty_space height=”29px”][vc_single_image image=”6790″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded”][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][vc_single_image image=”6799″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded”][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][vc_single_image image=”7069″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
